Thanks a lot on that information. My wife was asked to do some kind of
reconstruction of the pompcoat of Thorsberg (we have a book on that in
the TWIST library) end of June on a loom weavers meeting here in
Northern Germany. We both have a lot of experience in tablet weaving and
my wife also a little bit in loom weaving. The organisator of the loom
weavers meeting planned to do some combination of tablet and loom
weaving and had the idea to use the Thorsberg coat and the techniques
used in that coat as a sample (of course we will not do a 1:1
reconstruction of the coat but more or less a "smaller" version).

The coat itself is weaved in 2/2 twill (German twill type is called
"Gleichgratkper") and has tablet woven salvages on all 4 sides.

So if anyone here on the list can give some more information, help,
hints or tricks we are pleased to get them. At the moment we have the
information from Kurt Schlabow (his book on that coat and an article in
a book on iron age textiles) available at the moment.

I propose we will give a lot of information on the website of my wife on
that project when it is finished and hopefully will have an
understandable englisch version then as well.

Greetings to all
Guido
