It was so fun meeting our List Mom, Ron, at Convergence! He's as nice in person as he is on-line. We did have a nice discussion about html and the "fun" it brings to our list. Our final thought was that, since this is such a low-traffic list, that more people will hopefully opt for individual messages where the html problem doesn't seem to be such a problem. Anyway, as Mom Ron says, let's see how it all goes.
It was WONDERFUL seeing so many TWISTers in Vancouver! The meeting was great if too short (as always), and after four Convergences, I am really enjoying seeing so many old friends now instead of meeting so many new ones! There were also quite a few of new folks, both to TWIST and to TWing, which was gratifiying to see. And of course, show-and-tell just knocked everyone's socks off. Brava/o to everyone.
Also, I want to congratuate Inge Dam for winning the very first TWIST Award for Excellence. Wow, what a stunning belt she entered in the "Sea Strands" exhibit; it deserved that award, trust me!
And my congratulations to all the TWers who gave workshops and seminars. It is a strong indication that our craft (art!) continues to be taken seriously by the weaving community. Of course, we also try to make it impossible for them to ignore us!! (To that end, we've asked that the passementerie exhibit at Convergence in Denver be a NON-juried one so that more people will feel free to enter without all the hassles of slides, etc.)
I hope everyone has now recovered from their time in a foreign country (Hi, Canada!).
Nancy
