currently we are working on a new project: 3/1 broken twill with a 5th thread through a center hole of the tablet (worsted for the 4 "normal" holes, linen in the center hole). When the 5th thread is always in the "lower" part of the shed we encountered that we have no twining of this thread (which is quite clear if one imagines tha twining that the 3/1 broken twill creates). Now we have the idea to get twining by changing the 5th thread position in the shed (upper or lower) regulary, e.g. each 4 turns or even changing every turn. Has anybody made any experience in such a weaving and has any hints or tricks what is best for such a weaving?
