Now we have the idea to get twining by changing the 5th thread position in the shed (upper or lower) regulary, e.g. each 4 turns or even changing every turn. Has anybody made any experience in such a weaving and has any hints or tricks what is best for such a weaving?
I've never used a fifth center hole for twill, but for regular weaves I pass the weft twice - so it goes over and then under the center thread at each pass. I use the center hole when I want thicker bands. A bit more time consuming, but nice. :-)
