It's easy to see the card direction from the top of the warp and the fact that it's the same as the twist direction is also helpful. I always have to stop and follow the threads with my eye to visualise Collingwood's S & Z. I would also like to mention that S & Z are a normal way of thinking about twist direction if you're a spinner. But tablet weavers have to have really nimble brains and a very well-developed sense of direction!
