CNCH -- look at http://www.cnch.org/pages/guilds/guilds.html for a map of the area served by this conference of guilds.

I suspect the event is held in Santa Clara at least in part because of suitable facilities. Stitches West, which has been held at the Oakland Convention Center, will move to the Santa Clara Convention Center in 2005 because the event needs more space, both exhibition and especially classroom.

Meanwhile, the little girl next door is turning six and I need to make her a birthday present. In the past I've made cloth hats, and a little totebag with snap-on insects .... as she's learning to read, I was thinking of putting on a bookmark-type warp, and then I'd have a few extras on hand for miscellaneous occasions. That's the thought -- haven't even considered what particular aspect of card weaving ....

No big deal, but to imagine Santa Clara as part of northern California is an amazing concept. Eureka OK, but Santa Clara?

Santa Clara is near San Francisco, which I definitely think of as northern CA.
