Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques Inspired by Thora's Birka Strapwork Motif http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~capriest/birkarcp.html, I've adapted the motif from the brocaded band Birka B12 as a very similar woven pattern. There's a sample of the band on my Gallery, and the turning sequence is also available:
C:\Shelagh\Website\Gallery\Gallery.htm C:\Shelagh\Website\Gallery\birka12_pattern.JPG Although the band would have looked better if I've pulled the weft tighter, I think it's an attractive pattern, and it's quite easy to weave. The pattern only takes 10 tablets and 8 picks to repeat.
