Hi Peter,
I once taught a 'new to tabletweaving' group how to make a very small double-faced neckpiece, one I thought would be quite easy but turned out to be a disaster for several of them. I now start them on two holes dark/two holes light patterning before I introduce double-faced TW.

My first piece of tabletweaving is terrible. It was made of a thick wool, has seriously uneven edges and is not beaten firmly. I keep it to remind me of my first attempts and always show it to my students.
