There seems
interest in that Virgin Mary picture. So here are a few more details as I sent
to Nancy Spies + two jpegs.
"The
whole book is described as small so this detail must be minute
I suppose the
very faithful/hopeful could say she was holding tablets in right
hand!
I can tell you
little else.
An
article appeared in Bonhams Magazine, Issue 4, Autumn 2005, called Timeless
Hour. It describes how this Book of Hours was discovered... says it was probably
by "The Master of Adelaide of Savoy" made between 1460 and 1470....that it was
extremely rare ... that it will be up for auction in November 14 in San
