I did this pattern once, I'm not weaving a lot these days, but I don't recall
jhaving to reposition the tablets. It's actually a lovely rhythm once you get
started weaving. One thing, a lot of twist builds up. If you reverse the
turning sequence, that'll get rid of the twist, but it also gives a very
different pattern. I was suprprised to find that reversing the turning actually
DID give a coherent pattern, though not one that matches the Birka one.

Warmest Hellos,
I'm Trudi from NC and I've been tablet weaving for about 3 weeks. I took
it up after being diagnosed with lupus. I'm really enjoying it and want
to weave all the time. :-)

I've just ordered Peter's book and while waiting for it to arrive I
thought I'd give this pattern a try:

http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~capriest/birkarcp.html

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have a question about it. Do I return
all the cards to their original positions (A and D on top of the shed)
before each turning sequence and after each pattern repeat? Or do I just
keep going?

It's a beautiful pattern and I'm excited about weaving it. I just don't
want to muck it up.

Walk and Weave In Beauty,
Trudi
