Although I have been tablet weaving for years, now that I am trying double-faced patterns using sewing thread I am having trouble with the cards tipping over. I have the warp on an inkle loom, am using a spreader and also put a board under the warp so that the cards, made from playing cards, rest on the board. It is the border cards which tip and if I am not careful I miss the shed on these cards or they rotate by themselves. I have the border cards independently weighted with film canisters and pennies and try to keep the tension on the border cards the same as with the other cards. What am I doing wrong, or what can I do to alleviate this problem?
