Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

Hi Anne,

Thanks so much for welcoming me! :-) I'm delighted to know there are other spinners here. :-)

My handspun tussah and bombyx silk works very well with cardweaving. The merino is holding up very well too. With all my handspun for cardweaving warps I use a modified worsted technique. The more compact the yarn is, the better is seems to weave. I also put A LOT of twist in the singles (a habit from my Cherokee grandmother) and ply to make a cabled yarn. It's thicker, but I prefer thick yarns. :-)

For my weft, I spin the singles (lots of twist) and do a simple 2 ply.

Happy Weaving,
Denyse
