Hi Anne,
Thanks so much for welcoming me! :-) I'm delighted to know there are
other spinners here. :-)
My handspun tussah and bombyx silk works very well with cardweaving. The
merino is holding up very well too. With all my handspun for cardweaving
warps I use a modified worsted technique. The more compact the yarn is,
the better is seems to weave. I also put A LOT of twist in the singles
(a habit from my Cherokee grandmother) and ply to make a cabled yarn.
It's thicker, but I prefer thick yarns. :-)
For my weft, I spin the singles (lots of twist) and do a simple 2 ply.
