I suspect there’s some variance from state to state here, and almost certainly even from city to city. I know in my city, in Wisconsin, the speed limit on all roads if not otherwise signed is 25 mph (~40km/h). Certainly not limited to “walking speed”. —Alex Mauer “hawke”
