I've come across quite some bridges (and some aqueducts) on canals in France yet
I've never ever seen a bridge mapped with riverbanks even nothing speaks
against. Some bridges have a "width" albeit that isn't rendered currently. IMO a
bridge should have a width if known.
Besides riverbanks are tagged as "waterway=riverbanks" which will lead to
problems when one day routing on waterways will be possible. Therefore I and
others have switched to mapping rivers as water with "natural=water" and not use
riverbanks anymore.
