Know it. Hate it. WAY to complex. IMO mapping parallel features would need some heavy support on the editors side. It could be done with the current data model, but I'm not sure if this would be a good idea. What is needed (IMO!) is some kind of way (lets call it xway), that may consist of parts. Those parts run by default parallel and may only be moved nearer to/farther away from the center of the xway. Then you apply tags to either the xway (valid for all parts) or individually to one or more parts of it (may overrule the tags from the xway). Of course one could map such xway to the current data model with a way and a relation (this is what the area relations tries to do to some extent). But you still need editor support for this to be manageable. And as this might not happen for all editors, "old" editors may completely screw the data. Therefore I also think that it would be a bad idea to simulate a xway by a way and a relation instead of a real new datatype, which would be invisible for "old" editors. regards, Martin _______________________________________________ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
