So your suggestion is basically to put these features into an explicitly tagged category based on their religious background? I'd like to point out that this might make things more complicated. You suddenly need to tag "statue of saint" and "statue of king" completely differently, even though the distinction makes almost no difference for today's reality. If these were often sought out for their function, like typical amenities, this would make sense. But because we are talking about a class of features that are mostly treated as landmarks or decoration and are not usually sought out in a generic way - "I'm looking for the closest religious monument, whatever it is" is probably a very rare use case -, I see little benefit in such a classification.
