Hi,
I have edited the wiki page on amenity=drinking_water
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity%3Ddrinking_water
To reflect the new tag man_made=water_tap
This suggests that the correct tag to use for a water tap is
man_made=water_tap ...
and that amenity_drinking_water is for drinking fountains (bubblers in
Australian).
My edit;
1) removes references to water taps as a suitable use for
amenity=drinking_water
2) adds links to a=man_made=water_tap as the tag to use for water taps.
(waving red flag for discussion/conflict/flames!)
This should resolve any confusion as to which tag to use.
