I used it for a subway tunnel, see :

It is not rendered yet but it makes sense to use it, as man_made=bridge
already exists. Also, a proposal already exists [1]. Maybe if it is used
more widely in the future it will be handled by renderers.

The advantage would be that the ways could keep the name of the road
