I've always used
lanes=5 centre_turn_lane=yes as a shortcut that implies lanes=5 lanes:forward=2 lanes:both_ways=1 lanes:backward=2 turn:lanes:both_ways=left It's just a way to reduce five tags to two in a common, special-case situation.
