My experience may be different from yours, but no one I know talks about a 'waiting room' in an airport. The general waiting area is quite often referred to as the 'departure lounge', in fact. Agreed. Though despite it being called a “departure lounge” I wouldn’t consider that an amenity=lounge. That’s just the airport trying to make themselves sound more fancy than they are.
