Well, here are my 2 cents on this:

I have been (am) a HUGE supporter of Cold Fusion. I think it's one of the
(if not THE) best solutions for building web applications out there. I
totally agree with Stacy's remarks - it's EXTREMELY easy to learn/use, and
the time to market is simply PHENOMENAL! I've built a *LOT* of web
applications, and i don't think i've come across one that i couldn't build
using CF. Developing in CF is faster than anything else out there.

Having said that, the one BIG "drawback" was that to utilize a lot of the
cool capabilities of the CF server, you couldn't just use the freebie
(CF-Express), you had to shell out 4 to 5 grand to acquire one of those
puppies.

With Java (JSP/Servlets etc), you get this great app server (Tomcat) for
free, and a whole bunch of tags which try to do basically the same thing
that the CF tags do, but with more robustness (?) and scalability (?) etc -
that's cool! 8) And you can see the way the tags are implemented too cos
it's open source!

Now if NEO really takes off, and (if) CF gets bundled with Tomcat, i would
gladly start using CF tags again.

Anyhoo - i'm happy with both. In time i hope i can use JSP/Servlets with
the same speed and functionality as i use CF tags.

Regards,
Anuj.
