Hi Otis Yes, this is another taglib (as there are taglibs in Jakarta that have part of the functionality of JSTL), but in my opinion it's an ideal companion to JSTL. We use both (and also other stuff like the mailer taglib), and it works fine. There's nothing in JSTL that offers what the String taglib offers - which is why we installed it :-) No, the EL is not supported, but you can come pretty far by nesting tags. Perhaps one day, when Tomcat 5 with JSP 2 and EL as standard is released, the taglib authors will be forced to include EL. But hey... why not ask the author? :-)
