Hi all, I saw at http://allmydata.org/trac/tahoe/ticket/217#comment:50 that you briefly considered using the HECC implementation "hector" implemented by Peter Birkner and me. For several (understandable) reasons these considerations did not get vary far. If there is still interest in our implementation we could certainly sit down and update it to a less "demo" version. Removing the need for SSE2 is pretty hard to do because we use mpfq for the finite field arithmetic and mpfq relies on SSE2 for binary-field arithmetic. What I found quite interesting is that you had problems buildingg it on Ubuntu Jaunty -- do you remember what exactly went wrong there? For the key size: I don't think it's possible to compress the public key to 113 bits.
Best regards, Peter
