Data point for the discussion: I've essentially only built and run experimental builds since feature/linux-3.13 was merged into experimental in commit 46d7f2b on Jan 1, 2014. I've seen no regressions I can attribute to this merge (or the later merges of the updated branch) since then, which is reassuring.
