Hi,

There is at least one downside: the Electrum AppImage is 86 MiB, whereas
the Electrum Debian package and it's dependencies which we could remove
from Tails sum up to 1.3 MiB:

  total 1.3M
  723K Aug 15 2018 python3-electrum_3.1.3-1~bpo9+1_all.deb
  286K Nov 26 2016 python3-protobuf_3.0.0-9_amd64.deb
  100K Dec 24 20:43 python3-dnspython_1.15.0-1+deb9u1_all.deb
   35K Apr 25 2015 python3-ecdsa_0.13-2_all.deb
   32K Jan 13 2018 python3-jsonrpclib-pelix_0.3.1-1~bpo9+1_all.deb
   28K Aug 15 2018 electrum_3.1.3-1~bpo9+1_all.deb
   26K Aug 27 2016 python3-qrcode_5.3-1_all.deb
   16K Jan 13 2018 python3-pyaes_1.6.1-1~bpo9+1_all.deb
  6.5K Jul 5 2013 python3-pbkdf2_1.3+20110613.git2a0fb15~ds0-3_all.deb

Those are the packages which would be removed by running `apt remove
electrum`:

The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer
required:
  python3-dnspython python3-ecdsa python3-electrum
python3-jsonrpclib-pelix python3-pbkdf2 python3-protobuf python3-pyaes
python3-qrcode

I think this is the better option.

Cheers
