I deleted the /uui folder from the Tails USB drive I created and now it no longer boots. "ERROR: No configuration file found No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found! boot:"
So I'm assuming those files/folder are necessary at least for the initial boot. I calculated the sha256 checksum for all files on both the drive I was given, and the drive I created from a cryptographically verified ISO and all files checked out again, except for /uui/ldlinux.sys If anyone can speak to the potential to compromise the system by modifying /uui/ldlinux.sys I'd love to hear more details. Or if anyone can provide some tips on how I can view the differences between the two files I'd also be interested.
