I might have mixed up two things. First, you create a Tails USb stick
using UUI, then clone & install it on another USB stick (in order to
be able to create a persistent volume). There should only be a live and
syslinux folders on that second one.

You should only base your trust on the cryptographic verification of
the ISO file. Anything else might only add more confusion.
