The best would be to directly download the drivers from debian (using
apt-get install). Not from an unverified website. If you can do so,
then you can add the driver package as an additional software:

https://tails.boum.org/doc/first_steps/persistence/configure/#index13h2

That step is probably the one missing in order to have a fully working
persistence of your printer.
