Hi mark,
Upon further review the NM-systems connections folder may be part of the problem, i have found that in fact Tor config file is the other part, or perhaps originally all of the problem. This is located in /etc/tor. For instance i have made this folder persistent so that i may have persistent guard nodes, in order to delete it i did as described below then rebooted so that tor would recreate the original torrc file. One reason for why tor suddenly stopped working may have been an issue with this file being updated in new releases but could not update as presistent folders apparently cannot be updated through the update feature. Another more likely reason is the same, except that connecting via bridgemode creates a new modified torrc file configured for bridge use and the persistence element was preventing this new config file from being used, which produced a defunct old config file and a blank new config file. The NM system connections i believe is just a file with network names and login/passes, if you are able to login to the router through the unsafe browser (also broken in 1.2) then this means your nm-system-connections file is fine and that the problem is with your torrc file. -------- Original Message -------- From: Mark Davis <[email protected]> Apparently from: [email protected] To: User support for Tails <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Tails-support] BUG - Failed connection via bridgemode corruptsnm-system-connections Date: Sun, 16 Nov 2014 11:41:37 +0000 > Hi, I have changed to root user and deleted the folder in the workaround, > rebooted and still have the same problem as described in the symptoms.
