Okay. I made a USB loader in Windows. That loader works fine. Then I made another one from within TAILS so that I could have permanent settings and whatnot. That one does not work. I thought the USB broke, so I made a loader out of a micro SD card, but that one didn't work either. I also could not access the USB or SD card I made from within TAILS on either of my desktops. I wanted to know how to fix this. Eventually, I found I could access them on our recently acquired Win8.1 computer. However, it only recognized them as 2.44GB volumes. I formatted the micro SD, and this did not change. I am no longer interested about using TAILS, as it is clear that nothing I do will make it work. I simply want my drives back in full volume so that I can use them elsewhere. How can I do this?
Which version of Tails are you trying to start? 1.2 or 1.3. Don't remember. Did you verify the ISO image? Yes. Which is the brand, and model of the computer? I don't know. It doesn't matter, since I just want to know how to recover my volumes for personal use. What exactly happens when trying to start? Report the complete error message that appears on the screen, if any. The computer completely ignores my TAILS volumes and just boots Windows like normal. >From which media are you trying to start Tails: DVD, USB stick installed manually, USB stick installed with Tails Installer, SD card? Keep in mind that, we do not support any other installation method than the ones listed above. USB installed with TAILS installer and, previously, a micro SD card. Have you been able to start Tails successfully on this computer before, from another media, or with another version of Tails? If so, which ones? No, but this is my Windows 8.1 PC. I have only tried the previously listed volumes. Does the same media start successfully on other computers? No. Have you been able to start Tails successfully on the same computer using different installation methods? For example, it might start from a DVD but not from a USB stick. I have not tried. What installation method did you use to set up Tails? I don't understand the question.
