Wow, seems like our 32-bit UEFI support is broken somehow. I've no
idea why. Sadly I won't have hardware handy to test that in the next
2 weeks. Can you please send me a complete (recursive) file listing
from that USB stick, along with a checksum (e.g. sha1) of each file?
Then I'll file a ticket about it to try and reproduce on my side
(though I won't be able to do that with Universal USB Installer).

… so this tells us two things:

 * Your system is affected by
   https://labs.riseup.net/code/issues/11839. I've asked our help desk
   to gather some info two weeks ago, please have a look at the ticket
   and consider providing the same info if you still have the affected
   USB stick unmodified.

 * The automatic upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6 did not break 32-bit
   UEFI support. Only a pristine installation of 2.6 gives you
   a broken 32-bit UEFI setup. That's interesting. How did you install
   that 2.5 system initially? Using Universal USB Installer as well?
