These edits are just nodes of a business placed on a road without a
physical building coincidentally mapped.
Is this allowed?
This is OSM... 'everything is allowed'. :P
However .. not good practice.
Firstly the business node should ideally be off to the side of the road
- in the location of the business.
There is no necessity of having the building mapped .. though again it
would be better if it was.
And the business could have phone and email .. and address info.
Does a business need to have a physical building presence to be
included in OSM?
If these nodes were placed near the road instead would that be ok?

One is an extra node on top of a junction node.
Best approach?

Something along the lines of ?
Welcome them to OSM.
Suggest that is would be better to map the business;
on one side of the road rather than the middle of it
include contact details, opening hours ..
perhaps address info...
Remember this may be their first contact with and mapping in OSM ... go
easy.
