As Cleary said, I think most are for the holiday period and key long weekends and are staffed by vols from the Red Cross/SES etc. There is more chance of it not being open and the only food is normally two biscuits in a pack.
Most are well signed that they are in operation (in Victoria anyway) so I am not certain if mapping them is more confusing than not.
