So from a long term perspective, is it better to just keep marking
them as "natural=point", and once there is a critical mass, pushing
for rendering? I'm not really clear on whether tags are supposed to be
defined first, or if it's just based on use.
Based on a lot of things. Creating a wiki page for them is easy .. copy
the capes page for instance and modify it for heads. My last one was for
the Melbourne sport of 'trugo' ... only 11 instances but I was intrigued
as to what it was.
The people that make the decisions are probably as biased as I am so
unless they have personal knowledge of 'the feature' it is less likely
to get rendered on the standard map.
No reason why heads cannot be dual tagged ... as an example
landcover=grass can be used when ever landuse=grass occurs. If the
'head' and the 'peak' don't coincide then there is no reason for both
not to be mapped.
I'm not particularly fussed about whether or not they are rendered in
the map. Rather, I'd like to see them in the data, in the most
appropriate way.
Interestingly, it seems to be a showdown between NSW and Somalia as to
who has the most "points" :)
Makes me wonder what the rest of the world is using .. or don't they
have heads? :)
