Is it permissible to use DEM data from ELVIS to generate a stream layer than can then be used to improve the existing streams in OSM?
In NSW, most of the streams have been either copied from the DCS base or topo map, or (less common) traced from DCS aerial imagery. The accuracy of the original DCS base/topo data (not the tracing!) in some places is fairly woeful. The aerial imagery is better, but suffers from canopy cover.
