Yes agreed re the Goomeri Nanango section

I am also pretty well convinced that I have enough indirect info to fix the site of my original Wuruna Dam post too. Not direct imagery based, more discussion and realising that a sign reading error crept in when it "should follow A3" there.

Can't help with the trunk vs primary..

So, by the signage, it would certainly seem that the ACW should be moved from the Goomeri - Nanango section of the A3?

I have to say that the OSM road classifications also have me a bit confused?

Why is the A3 a "Trunk", while all the others are only Primary roads?

Thanks

Should have mentioned that there was nothing in the short distance

                    Hi Gents

I live in Kingaroy, so took some pics (not now
enclosed) of ACW signage in the area. Can confirm
there is none along Haly Street/Barkers Creek
Road; I use that road all the time. I hadn't fixed
it because I wasn't sure of the signage through
town (till today, when I surveyed it), and haven't
                    played with relationships before.

Bob, I think I may have already resolved at least
some of your Goomeri fixmes. I remember checking
out some when there a few months ago. I can
probably head up to Monto and have a look at
signage on the way but unlikely to get there
                    before October.

Graeme, if you're continuing south through
Toowoomba there are two competing OSM ACW routes,
one along Margaret, Victoria, Herries street, the
other following A3 down Chalk Drive, Hume Street.
Implausible but anything is possible with TMR signage.

                    1. d'aguilar hwy heading southeast out of
Kingaroy. There are similar, nearby, heading into
                    and through town.

                    2. Heading north out of town on hwy 49. This would
make more sense if it was facing the other way.

                    3. Wondai Roundabout

                    cheers Owen

                            Hi Graeme

But as Owen pointed out ACW also goes out
through Kingaroy (off the A3) which the
Tiaro map (kind of) disagrees with.

I have seen a photo of the ACW sign
(southbound) just north of Monto, but it
isn't a source that can be used. Have also
done a patchy check of my own imagery
northbound from Mulgildie to Monto without
success. There is (my imagery) a
northbound sign just before the A3/ACW
south end diverge on OSM that has an arrow
for straight ahead, just as it enters a
sweeping right hand bend. I'd guess this
                            is where the error started.

Would be possible to look at all that
imagery again (plus Kingaroy), but it
would take forever! Is there a data source
                            we can use?

Hi Bob, long time lurker here

I reckon that would be an error,
unless the route for ACW is
signposted down Abercorn Road and the
other back roads, which I don’t
recall being the case. The State
                                Strategic Tourist Routes normally
                                take highways.

It wouldn’t be the only ACW routing
error, OSM shows it taking Kingaroy
                                Barker Creek Road then Burnett
                                Highway to Goomeri, whereas the
signed route is via Bunya Highway
                                Kingaroy-Wondai-Goomeri.

                                Cheers
