Hi All, I have started the meetup group, in attempts to get more support for mapping, http://www.meetup.com/OpenStreetMap-Vancouver-Island-Mappers/ So there are 12 others who indicated interest.
However, as im busy with this Import Stuff, im kind of leaving the group hanging as im not really the best person to host a workshop at the moment. (but i'll be there on wednesday) If anyone has an interest, please join in the group, and i'll set you up as an 'assistant co-host'. And take over the show :) .... cause like some of you have already noticed. .. I have a tendency to talk about the Import. .. When thats not what the 'mapping party' is all about. On a technical note: All the Road data for the island is already imported, with a little work needed in Nanaimo, and just about all the CanVec data is available (accept rivers & lakes) is already in OSM.
