Hi, Some people have had success with walkingpapers.org And for an OSM intro - Richard Weait has a great website explaining what all this maddness is about. (not sure the url)
Also, cloudmade has produced a 1 or 2 page summery of OSM. (again URL, i dont know off hand) I think on the wiki under 'for the media' there is info available.
