Bonjour Lennard, Few months ago there was a discussion on Talk-CA list about the availability of intermittent coastal water representation in mapnik.
Now that the Canvec product (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/CanVec) has been made available, there is going to be a lot of intermittent water (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/CanVec:_Hydrography_(HD)) uploaded in osm database. As you proposed, I've done the following... 1.) open a trac ticket with component=mapnik Ticket #3188 2.) include one or two link to places where it is used http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=50.2095&lon=-66.3944&zoom=12&layers=M : a large coastal bay with intermittent water (could have been tag water=tidal;surface=grass instead of just water=intermittent) http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=50.1256&lon=-66.6402&zoom=14&layers=M : a long beach along a coastal intermittent water area (the coastline splitting landform=beach and water=intermittent areas, both having surface=sand). Don't hesitate to contact me to get further explanations Cheers, Daniel -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Lennard Sent: 23 février 2010 09:53 To: Talk-CA OpenStreetMap Subject: Re: [Talk-ca] flying rhinoceros [Previously Coastal water (Eau côtière) = Ocean ( Océan )] Bégin wrote: > 4.) determine which zoom levels need to render this > 5.) attach the icon as an SVG file 16x16 pixel in size > 6.) create a patch adding the rules to all the zoomlevels from step #4 Points 4,5,6 are mostly for osmarender. > Point 6 is less obvious. I have a personal interest in these coastal features, so I'd say do only points 1 and 2 for mapnik. We'll get it from there. -- Lennard _______________________________________________ Talk-ca mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca _______________________________________________ Talk-ca mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca
