Personally I license my GPS tracks (that I upload to OSM) as public domain. I see no reason why the petrol 'spent' collecting them should not be used in as many ways as possible. However I don't have the desire to contribute my 'processing' time to Google maps, if others want to use my tracks I'm OK with that.
