Yes, a translation on a wiki page would be good. Just post the english language file, when you have it completed. (Don't know if it already exists, or has to be generated) If there is a char-limit for some fields, then this would be interesting too, because words are normaly longer in german. An information about the context of the words to be translated could be useful. E.g the word "play" could mean "spielen", "herumspielen", "ausprobieren"... I think, a translation of potlatch is the right step to make it more usable to newbies and could prevent errors when editing. Do you want to implement a translation for the tags also?
