About what you call my 'multi-track project', I think I'm doing nothing
different than other mappers do.
An example: I've seen on the map that the Juvisy-sur-Orge railway complex has
been already mapped - by someone else - just like I'm mapping other depots (you
say 'ateliers' in French, don't you?) or railway complex in Paris (I've just
finished the Villeneuve St.Georges depot), i.e. mapping any single track
('voie'?) and junction. So I don't think I'm doing anything odd or unusual.

dépots et jonctions.
Apart this, the thing that needs to be eventually discussed is the rebuild of
the relations in accordance with the new 'track by track' mapping, I'll follow
your advice and will have a glance on the wiki.
Enfin, une fois le gros oeuvre terminé, il se propose de jeter un oeil
sur le wiki et de discuter de nouvelles relations sur ces voies
nouvellement crées.

I personnaly don't know if the RER should be tagged railway or subway,
it is a question that could be debated with locals on the french
mailing-list: talk-fr@openstreetmap.org (even in English).
In any case, the tag should not be chosen to make the way looking
better on the slippy map, one of the main OpenStreetMap 'rule' (if
any) is "don't tag for the renderer".
Also for your multi-track project, it is probably good to expose it
there, or on the wiki. You know that the RER lines connect millions of
people, so a little discussion would not be that bad !

Même si le RER est souterrain dans Paris, il conserve tout de même
le tag railway=rail, avec tunnel=true et layer=*. Je suis en train
de corriger, mais fait gaffe la prochaine fois ;)
De plus, je vois également que tu as supprimé des membres des
relations de la branche Nord du RER D
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/1070831 et
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/1074049 où on voit bien
dans Paris une discontinuité. Que tu modifies les ways, c'est bien,
que tu les supprime pour en faire de nouveau, pourquoi pas, mais au
moins, ne détruit pas les relations. Attention donc pour la
prochaine fois.
PS : Je corrige pour le RER A et D, n'hésite pas à le faire pour les
autres lignes que tu as modifié :)

hope you understand English because I don't speak French (although
I've been able to understand large parts of your message due to the
similarity of French language to my Country's language; anyway, I
cannot write in French).
I apologize if some of the modifications I've made have caused any
inconvenience (mainly due to the deletion of some relations).
Anyway, I was planning to restore the relations once the track
layout is completed.
On the other hand, please note that actual relations, as they are
built on a ficticious single track layout, are not compatible at all
with the multi track (real) layout I'm mapping, so maybe they need
to be remade from the scratch once the track layout is completed,
assigning to each single track the appropriate relation and driving
direction.
As for the metro/railway tags, yes, I assigned to the underground
RER paths the 'subway' tag and I did it intentionally (in fact, as
you can see, I assigned the proper 'railway' tag to the RER paths
running outside ground).
I did it aiming to make the underground RER paths more visible in
the map, since the 'railway/tunnel' tagged tracks are not so much
visible when rendered in OSM, especially when running below very
populated urban areas like Paris.
If doing so I violated any of the OSM conventions or agreements I
apologize for that.
Anyway, if I'll be forced to assign the 'runway/tunnel' tag to
underground RER paths I'll do so, but I won't be happy with that for
the reasons I've explained above.
On the contrary, if it's allowed to differently tag specific
sections of railway, I invite you to consider my option. I think
that the good visibility of any item in a map is the base for a
really good, usable and useful map.
