If someone can query the database for a list of places already in OSM, then overlay them on NPE, with a click-to-add place mechanism, that would be a great thing. It would take much longer in JOSM or whatever because you can't download large areas in one go. The tool would also be more accurate because it could work in OSGB projection - JOSM doesn't do the translation properly, so the NPE maps get much less accurate as you move away from London.
