Spamming random people is not a good idea, but I would love to be alerted if the particular change I'm about to upload will introduce (what look like) errors in the data. That would mean integrating keepright or similar code directly into the editor, or else adding a 'lint' API where the editor could upload a proposed changeset and get back a list of warnings. (This 'lint' API might run on keepright's own servers rather than OSM's.)
Easier to implement would be an automated message after the change is uploaded, going only to the person who made it, and only if that change introduced new errors. To avoid pissing people off this might have to be opt-in; these warning messages, even if done with the best of intentions, might appear combative if you're not familiar with them. -- Ed Avis <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ Talk-GB mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb
