I'm not entirely convinced it's that straightforward. OpenCycleMapmakes
extensive use of tags such as "lcn" and there isn't a corresponding one
in widespread use* for long distance paths.
The entries on the "WikiProject_United_Kingdom_Long_Distance_Paths"
would probably need a bit of tidying so that those that really are long
distance paths (whatever that is - the page covers the "official" UK
LDPs and many much shorter ones) identify themselves in a consistent way
that they can be shown on a map. If you showed all "route=foot"
relations you might get more than you bargained for. In some places the
plethora of overlapping named routes could cause a lot of confusion.
In terms of rendering style Nick's Freemap is already there or
therabouts, I think, notwithstanding server space and updates. The
Geograph links seem to be in the right place too (which is more than
Wikipedia and Google manage for similar items!).
