Hi The changeset comment is absolutely correct, we must not copy from OS maps, any such changes should be reverted.
It is worth remembering that the PROWs shown on OS maps is an overlay provided by the highway authority. These lines often differ from the on the ground reality which is what we map in OSM. Are you sure the original mapping was incorrect? If you have walked it then you can use that information to update the map but OS PROWs on their own should be taken with a large pinch of salt.
