Hi all, My name is Jonathan Konz and am currently doing my master's at Oxford. I am preparing to do some work with MSF to help refine some neighbourhood boundaries in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. During the cholera epidemic MSF took patient origins based on neighbourhoods, and we would now like to get really precise boundary polygons for this, which would allow us to make much better use of past and future patient data.
I will travel to Haiti with support from MSF, and hope to work together with the existing HOT/OSM community. In particular, I'd like to know if there are people involved with HOT/OSM who have some connections or knowledge of officials or community leaders in Haiti. Of course I would like to build upon the existing community and volunteers. I plan to hire at least one Haitian for the duration of the project as a local guide/fixer/translator/all round helper, and I'd be happy to make this an opportunity for someone within the local HOT/OSM community.
