ARP = Acres, Roods and Perches, an imperial unit of measurement that's
not used anymore. Those numbers tell you the area of the townland.
townlands.ie shows the area of townlands in many units, including "ARP".

I find the area helpful when mapping, you can tell if it's a big
townland or small one, which can help you find the border.

One way (which I haven't tried much) is to use indexes and match it up
by townlands. So if you know that ED X is made up of townland A, B and
C, you can map it that way.
