We should definitely meet in Bucharest, even if there's no mapping party, I agree. The OSM-UK group have monthly meet-ups as well, they're really cool.
Although this is quite cliche, there's a really good restaurant in the historical center of Bucharest which is a must-eat-at for any foreigner, called Caru' cu Bere.
