I'm afraid I can't give you any guarantees regarding the timeframe. Nor do I know of any alternative style to Hydda, that's sort of the reason for it existing in the first place :D
Our server has very limited computing resources compared to the amount of requests we're getting. The speed you saw before the upgrade (and that we will get to soon again) is due to several layers of cache. Since clearing these caches about 12 hours ago we've had a constant queue of about 1000 requests for non rendered tiles per style we're serving (hydda_full, hydda_base and hydda_roads_and_labels). Parallell to that we're also running pre-rendering of low zoom for the whole world to get z0-6 out there as soon as possible. My guess is that it's going to be pretty quick again within 24 hours from now as people tend to request the same tiles. However, if you want to be 100% sure that you have a speedy Hydda-style map up and running by Saturday you could set up your own server with data limited to the area covered for your scorecard and pre render the same way we do. https://github.com/karlwettin/tilemill-style-hydda <https://github.com/karlwettin/tilemill-style-hydda> https://switch2osm.org/serving-tiles/ <https://switch2osm.org/serving-tiles/> http://download.geofabrik.de/ <http://download.geofabrik.de/> karl > On 12 Sep 2017, at 22:35, Margie Roswell <[email protected]> wrote: > > Thank you very much for the response! > > I'm not sure how long "the next few days" will be, and since our scorecard > release is Saturday, I still seek a backup option that has many of the same > attributes as Hydda Full. > - Blue ocean > - Not displaying big roads when zoomed out > - Roads are dark enough to be seen under a partially transparent layer when > zoomed in > - A sense of belonging in the background, no big loud labels > > I don't really know where to start, since nothing at > https://leaflet-extras.github.io/leaflet-providers/preview/ > <https://leaflet-extras.github.io/leaflet-providers/preview/> > quite fits the bill.
